High Atlas Wedding Blanket, Morocco c.1940

Hand-woven wool with silk float and sequins, in the manner used across the Ait Ouaouzguite villages. Undyed ground with madder and indigo banding. Two small repairs to the selvedge, worked in matched wool by a Marrakech restorer, and one area of light sequin loss along the lower edge.
