Fez Polychrome Vase, Morocco c.1890

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in cobalt, manganese and ochre, the shoulder carrying an interlace band and the body a field of stylised palmettes. A firing crack runs 60 mm from the foot, stable and original to the making rather than later damage.
